Change the Microsoft Edge download location

Therefore, Microsoft Edge provides the option to change the download location to the desktop or another location on your computer.

Have Microsoft Edge ask where to save downloaded files
Another option that provides more flexibility is to have Microsoft Edge prompt you to choose where to store the downloaded files on your computer.
Open Microsoft Edge browser > click on the 3-dots menu icon and select Settings in the drop-down menu. On the Settings screen, select Downloads on the left pane. In the right pane, move the toggle next to Ask me what to do with each download to the ON position.
With this change, Microsoft Edge will prompt you to choose a download location every time you download a file to your computer.
